A: No matter how healthy and young and ready a woman is to become a Traditional Surrogate or Gestational Carrier she must have first experienced her own pregnancy, labor and birth. This cycle of life actually prepares a woman for surrogacy. She knows that she, herself, is not infertile, she knows that she can carry a pregnancy to term with no major complications, she knows how it feels to have a baby move inside her and how she reacts to her growing and changing body and she knows what it feels like to give birth….that joy and yes, pain. She also is well aware of the value of her gift to another couple because, as a mother, she is experiencing what others can’t, having the love of a child and being a parent.
