How the Surrogacy Process Works
The Surrogacy Process
-
Start with a conversation.
Complete a short inquiry so we can learn about your goals, review basic eligibility, and answer your initial questions.
-
Complete preliminary screening.
Eligible applicants move through medical record review, background screening, psychological screening, and other program requirements before fertility clinic clearance.
-
Meet intended parents.
We introduce you to intended parents whose values, communication style, expectations, and practical needs appear compatible with yours. Both sides have the opportunity to ask questions and decide whether the match feels right.
-
Complete clinic screening and finalize legal plans.
The fertility clinic completes medical clearance. Each party works with independent reproductive counsel to negotiate, review, and finalize the surrogacy agreement before treatment moves forward.
-
Prepare for embryo transfer.
The fertility clinic creates the medical calendar and directs medications, monitoring, and embryo transfer. Your Open Arms Surrogacy & Egg Donation coordinator helps keep the non-medical logistics organized.
-
Move through pregnancy with a team beside you.
Your coordinator helps with communication, scheduling, approved reimbursements, and practical journey details while your medical providers manage pregnancy care.
-
Prepare for delivery and postpartum.
We help the parties organize delivery communication and transition planning, and we remain available as you recover during the postpartum period.

I am blessed that they chose me.
Being a surrogate was very rewarding for me. I had the two most wonderful parents I could have hoped for. I will forever remember and love the families I’ve met on their journey to becoming parents.
